    Make the plan outside an emergency

    Choose trusted callback numbers and a verification phrase. Discuss who to contact when the first person cannot be reached, and agree that pausing to verify is always acceptable.

    Keep it practical for every family member

    1. Write down trusted contact routes in a place the person can use safely.
    2. Practice a calm response: I will call you back on the number I already have.
    3. Agree that requests for secrecy or unusual payments trigger an independent check.
    4. Revisit the plan when phones, trusted contacts or account access change.
