    Smart PII Protection

    How Our Privacy-First AI Works

We use advanced AI with privacy-focused design to analyze suspicious messages, calls, and emails you report. Before any analysis occurs, our system applies intelligent redaction to protect your personal information:

Always Protected — Never Sent to External Systems:

    • Social Security numbers
    • Credit card and bank account numbers
    • Passwords and login credentials
    • Driver's license and passport numbers
    • Medical and health information
    • Other sensitive personal identifiers

    Preserved for Threat Analysis:

When you ask Zora to analyze a potential scam, we retain only the information necessary to assess the threat:

    • Suspicious phone numbers (so our AI can verify if they're legitimate)
    • Suspicious URLs and links (so our AI can identify phishing sites)
    • Fake email addresses (so our AI can detect spoofing)
    • Impersonated company or brand names (so our AI can confirm authenticity)

    Stored Securely:

All data stored in our systems is fully redacted to ensure your personal information remains private, even in our internal databases.

    Why This Matters

This approach gives you powerful scam protection without compromising your privacy. For example, if you report a suspicious call from someone claiming to be from the IRS and asking for your Social Security number, our AI can verify whether the phone number is legitimate while your actual Social Security number is never transmitted or stored.

    Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

    Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party companies that help us operate, maintain, and improve the Service. These providers have access only to the information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to protect your data. Our service providers include:

    • Cloud infrastructure providers
    • AI and machine learning service providers
    • Analytics services
    • Customer support platforms

    Community Intelligence (ZoraWatch)

When you report a scam, anonymized threat indicators (such as phone numbers or URLs associated with known scams) may be shared with the ZoraWatch community to help protect other users. Your personal information is never included in community reports.

    Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

    Business Transfers

If ZoraSafe is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have.

    With Your Consent

We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

    Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy:

    • Account Information: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and business purposes
    • Submitted Content: Threat analysis data is processed in real-time; redacted versions may be retained to improve our detection systems
    • Usage Data: Retained in aggregated, anonymized form for analytics and service improvement

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Your Rights and Choices below).

    Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

    • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
    • Regular security assessments and penetration testing
    • Access controls limiting employee access to personal data
    • Secure development practices and code review

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you have reason to believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately.
